    Its a short reading but not a boring one. This must be read by the society, really. A lot of people nowadays needs to boost self esteem in facing social anxiety. Pretty good book that educates us in understanding social anxiety and shyness, what are the factors and/or components in such and how to deal with them. It shares some awareness, practices and exercises to help you deal and overcome such thing. Twas a great reading though, and well written. It conveys people.

    This is an outstanding work! Really enjoyed the author’s approach to a very delicate and complex matter as Social Anxiety. I have experience by my own as I had the worst scenic panic ever, I was studying Social Sciences so conferences were regular day events. I passed many embarassing moments, I couldn’t even sleep thinking about these situations. Certainly, motivated unconsciously, I started to understand my fear and see how it alterated in different ocassions – lights, weather, time, my look, people around, noise… After that, I understood that everything is managable around and I believe I have become in a very nice professional and person.

    Now, this book explains many interesting examples and gives clear advices to control and face with a cure the social anxiety, I really recommend it, as I said it’s good for the people who are inside this modest group, and also for those who are in charge of people with this problems. Now, as teacher, I’ve seen many students developing fears, definitely I will recommend this book to some of them, and I will use some advices myself to keep helping them.

Many reasons like behavioral explanations, thinking styles, etc. are identified as the main causes of social anxiety and shyness. The author narrated narrated about some factors that is very helpful to overcome the problem. Among all the factors Unhelpful Thoughts inside us are the main culprits that perpetuate the social anxiety inside us. The topics Dealing with worry and Controlling yourself in anxious situations are the most useful, I think, to get rid of social anxieties. Besides this, there are some exercises that play a vital role to acquire social skills and assertive communication for dealing with anxieties and shyness. This book is very helpful for me as I am a social being.

    I bought this book with curiosity asking myself whether I can learn anything new about being happy. I started to read and I saw it claims to teach “the science behind happiness so that you can tap into it along with lots of other useful strategies that you can incorporate into your life to achieve your lifelong desire of being happy.” It sounded awesome! but could the author deliver what he was claiming?

    After reading everything contained here I can attest that in my opinion: yes, the book brings us closer to happiness with all the knowledge it shares.

    What was especially surprising for me – in a positive way – was that the author is referring extensively to Science. There are many information about hormones and the ways they impact the state of our mind. This is a great advantage!

    Also one can learn how to become happier by changing the surroundings, by working with ones mindfulness (not only through formal meditation), or by controlling the way we react to things happening in our life.

    I also enjoyed the length of the book. It is easy to read and you don’t have to spend days on going through the text. I’m happy to recommend it to other seekers of true, long-lasting happiness!

    This book is divided in 4 chapters: The first one talks about the importance of mindfulness to achieve happiness, like Lao Tzu said “If you are depressed, you live in the past. If you are anxious, you live in the future… If you are happy… You live in the present…” that’s why this chapter will help you to live the present through mindfulness. The second chapter contains all the information about the hormones that make us happy and how to increase them. The third one will show you how to declutter your life so you don’t need any external stimulation to be happy. Finally the 4th chapter will give you some useful advices to help you achieve happiness.
