    From time to time I find myself under stress that feels crushing. I practice relaxation techniques, exercise, and seek medical help. I also do the Lumosity brain training exercises based on sound Neurology research. This book was mentioned in one of Lumosity’s articles, so I bought it. I LOVE it. It includes a MP3 disc with the “mindfulness” exercises as well as having them printed in the text, so you have two options of how to practice them. There are also workbook pages for the reader to express what occurs during those exercises. It is not hard to do. It has been very helpful to me! In fact, just looking at the image of the cover causes a relaxation of the shoulders and a deep breath! But DO read the inside! That’s where the good stuff is!

    This is an awesome book to learn mindfulness. Broken up into small segments, it allows you to reflect and practice a little bit at a time to understand the process of mindfulness. CD included with mindfulness exercises.

    Highly recommended by my therapist, who knows the authors, and is trained in this program for groups. It”s a program that requires commitment; personal time, motivated by a need for change. In my case, it has been stress and chronic pain. Little by little I am replacing some of my stressed/negative ways. Some of the wisdom is beginning to change my response to the pressures of my daily life.
